This ability is not an illusory effect but a minor physical alteration of a changeling’s facial features, skin color and texture, and size, within the limits described for the spell. A changeling can use this ability at will, and the alteration lasts until he changes shape again. A changeling reverts to his natural form when killed. A true seeing spell reveals his natural form. When using this ability to create a disguise, a changeling receives a +10 circumstance bonus on Disguise checks. Using this ability is a full-round action.

Character History:
Dox was born to a human mother - Gloria, and an elven father Ivellios. But conceptions between Elves and humans are not always as smooth as one might hope. After several years worth of attempts they went to an oracle in order to receive help, and some 9 months later a bundle of joy was born. But Ivellios and Gloria were appalled to learn that when their child went to sleep his features seemed to shrink and change.
Ivellios claimed Gloria was unfaithful, and Gloria demanded to know if Ivellios was a changeling or if it was a side effect of the magic. Temperatures heated and after two days of much yelling and screaming Ivellios left their home to travel away and start a life away from his unfaithful wife and cursed child.
Dox was treated like an abomination by his mother, she kept him locked in his room at night and tried to hide him away from visitors. She tried to find new suitors but the burden of a child, and the abandonment of Ivellios left a dark mark on her that was hard to throw off. When Gloria decided that her child could fend for himself she took him to a nearby city and left him in an ally alone.
It was at this time that he decided on his own name Dox. Left on his own he gravitated towards a community of halflings as they were closer to his own size. With his ability to change his form he was able to merge in rather quickly.
Description:
As a changeling Dox's appearance changes whenever he feels it pertinent. When viewed outside of an assumed form he has small bland lips, white colorless eyes, and sharp angular ears and cheeks common to his kind.
Desires:
After living on his own for some time (and not a few cons), Dox has come home to Avalon to look for his mother, perhaps find out where his father has gone, and also to explore his own abilities.
Habits:
Dox has a preference to travel in the form of a Catfolk, he feels he tends to get better receptions, and he just enjoys the sensations of having fur and being able to tease people with his tail. Getting close and sniffing someone also gives him an excuse to look them over better in case he wants to pretend to be them in the future.
Dox loves to pile his coins out on his bed and sleep on them, hes not exactly sure why but it just feels right. He tries to avoid copper coins though as its a pain to scrub their stains off his skin.
Dox tends to be rather clean. If sitting around in the bar he might comb his hair or polish his gear. He does his best not to stink like the sewers as not only does it just stink, but it draws attention to him and might blow his cover.
