"How we marvel at the things the gods have made. How a little science, arcana, and alchemy estranges us from them, and how a lot more brings us back again. But then-a glimpse into the Outer Void, a taste of starry wisdom whisks us away, and we never quite return to them. Few know the truth.
They were mortal once.
As are we all.
What men would be of such vanity to call themselves 'gods'? What men would be of such insanity to dare to challenge them? It is unthinkable. But there were, and they did- and they live. It is undoubtable, their superiority, in each and every way. All that we could ever aspire to, have they already gained. And yet I am afraid.
How I wish I could erase it from my memory- Where Chaos Reigns. I hope I never see the day when I am anointed with the holy resin. I pray I go unnoticed, go quietly recieving neither their curse nor blessing. I hope and I pray to all space, that I never meet them again, in any of their thousand other forms."

Where Chaos Reigns
Where Chaos Reigns is an epic poem whose original author is unknown, but it is held that they were not mortal. Its language induces profound madness in those that would read it except the minds of the most stern mystics that would ponder it. Few copies are believed to exist, and most of those that have been found have been proven to be 'copies' of dubious origin or 'translations' from its original Discordian.
The epic poem is believed to be prophetic, fortelling of many calamities and the comming and passing of many dread names. Those who are students of chaos would not say that the unspeakable truths hidden within its quatrains mean that all has been decided beforehand. Rather they would say that the one who wrote it was able to look UP the hill further than most, and see the boulders that were tumbling down-their precise paths unpredictable, but their arrival very real.
It would seem that the Cho-Lin men, some way or another way had been exposed to it. But WHERE? It would also seem that by some strange fate, they escaped what they knew was comming, and ran into it…or else it came after them hoping to silence them forever.
The Kaorti and others, those whom Where Chaos Reigns concerns, or else those who BELIEVE it concerns them, would certainly be interested in what it has to say.

"Congratulations, you can link to TV Tropes. This does not mean you have special insight into the storytelling process, much less the author's mind. Stories don't need to fit into neat boxes, you know.
