I like to think I'm some weird fusion of "Guy who's trying to break the system in his favor" and "Guy who's trying to keep the system from being broken beyond repair."

When speaking to mech ops about suggestions for the game I'll occasionally say things like "I'm not sure if I'd allow this in a game I ran, but I'd like your opinion on whether you think it would be a good addition."

Which is something I'd recommend for players, when making suggestions. Mention to the ops if you have worries about it being unbalanced, to make sure they look it over carefully.
