Benefit: As a swift action, you can expend a turn undead attempt to create a pulse of divine energy. All living creatures within 60 feet of you heal an amount of damage equal to 1d8 points + your Charisma bonus (if any). All undead creatures in this area take damage equal to 1d8 points + your Charisma bonus.
Class Abilities:
Spontanious Healing
Turn Undead +2 to turn checks per knowledge religion +2 turn checks +1d6 turning damage per Glory domain (11 Turns per day) Turns undead as if 4 levels higher. (Undead within 30 feet treated as -4 HD for purpose of turning, Rod of Defiance)
Extra Greater Turning: A Radiant Servant can perform a Greater Turning (the granted power of the Sun sphere) a number of times equal to 3+her charisma modifier.
Radiance: When a Radiant Servant casts any spell using the "light" descriptor, the radius of illumination is doubled, and the spell is treated as one level higher than it is for all purposes including if it can counter or dispel with the darkness descriptor. Thus, a daylight spell cast by a Radiant Servant sheds light in a 120ft radius and is treated as a 4th level spell, allowing it to counter or dispel any darkness spell 4th level or lower.
Divine Health: A radiant servant of 2nd level is immune to all diseases, both normal and magical including mummy rot and lycanthropy.
Empower Healing:
When a Radiant Servant reaches 2nd level and uses a Healing domain spell, that spell is as if affected by the Empower Spell feat. It does not use a slot one level higher.

Bonus Domain:
At 5th level, the Radiant Servant may select a 3rd cleric domain or can choose the Glory or Purification domains. She can use the powers of the granted domain and may select spells from any of the three she can use as her domain spell.
Maximize Healing:
When a Radiant Servant reaches 6th level and uses a Healing domain spell, it can be treated as if the Maximize Spell feat was applied. This ability does not use spell slots.
Racial Abilities:
Scent
Keen Senses + 2 Listen and Survival
-Pack Tactics: Thanks to natural group instincts that work well in battle, large canids give others an additional +1 to attack rolls made during a flanking attack in which the large canid is the supporting flanker. The large canid does not receive this bonus, nor does it influence damage rolls, as it only assists another party member in making a better attack.

Character History:
A Lawful Neutral Cleric who follows Sin under the Darkness and Magic domains. He's a Wolven who was orphaned at a young age due to the murder of his parents, because they worshipped what a neighboring village felt to be a 'heathen' god. So, with a massive chip on his shoulder my character decided he would attempt to become a wizard and take revenge. However, he showed no real aptitude for arcane magic and was unceremoniously dumped by the hermit he'd attempted tutorage from. Homeless and totally on his own, he wandered the wilds for a while until in the dead of winter, he stumbled upon one of Sin's minor temples hidden behind a waterfall. He collapsed exhausted before the altar and was found by one of Sin's Priestesses who contemplated killing him, until she heard his story. She convinced him that if he were to worship Sin, then Sin would grant him the strength to deal justice to those who had shown disregard for the lives of his family. Through his worship of Sin, he's developed a sense of morals that would make Lex Luthor look innocent. A sense of justice that can range from whimsical disregard to very harsh punishment, and an acceptance that if he can build up a greater following for Sin, then he could balance out the scales of religion by any means possible.
However, in recent times Kael returned to the Temple of Sin to pay tribute to his Goddess. He walked into a ceremony in progress that was wicked enough to turn his stomach and force him to realize the true nature of the Goddess that he had chosen to serve. In a moment of fury and guilt, he attacked his fellow members of the Temple, slaying many before returning to Avalon, stripped of his divine powers by Sin. It was only a few days later that Priestess Riven ordered the kidnapping of Eve as revenge against Kael, and he lead a small group in a quest to rescue her.
After a confrontation with Priestess Riven and a battle that raged throughout a hidden Temple of Sin, Kael felt a voice within his soul that encouraged him to make the right choice and serve the Light. In the final battle against Riven, Kael had divine powers restored to him by Sol Invictus and came to serve the Light, rather than Darkness.

A: Appearance
1) Describe yourself as someone meeting you for the first time would see you. (Race?, Gender?, Age?, Size? Coloration? Attractiveness?, Dress? Do you try to emphasize or hide any of these features?)
Kael is tall and lanky with an athletic build. He's obviously a beastfolk, a wolf with midnight black fur as his main color and snowy white as his secondary. His throat, chest, stomach, groin, inner thighs, armpits and the insides of his ears are all white fur while the rest of him is black. He's rather handsome, usually with a serious expression on his face that has in recent months, began to cheer up more and more. He has wolven, blue eyes that will gleam when exposed to light at night.
2) What other details would someone notice on a closer look? (Distinguishing marks, birthmarks, scars, etc?)
Kael actually does not have any particularly distinguishing marks, as his fur tends to cover up any birthmarks and his healing powers have allowed him to avoid developing scars so far.
3) Do you have a distinctive way of speaking or any other mannerisms or memorable behavior?
His accent has a hint of the mountainfolk's accent to it, as that was where he was raised until a young age. Since then he has adopted a more Avalonian accent. His tail tends to wag when he's in a good mood, since it pretty much has a mind of its own. Those familiar with him can often gauge his mood by the angles of his ears and the movement of his tail.
B: Birth and Family
1) Where and when were you born? (Also good to include: Do you know your exact birthdate? Did anything unusual (storms, accidents, deaths, etc?) happen about the same time, with which some people might still associate your birthdate?)
Kael was born in the mountains to the west of Avalon in a village known as Pinevale. His birthday is August 1st.
2) Who are your parents? (Names, Occupations, Social class, Were they married?, Are they still alive? are all good things to include)
His mother was Kelly, a barmaid at the Pinecone Tavern. His father was Winston, a woodcarver. Both were wolven beastfolk and commoners and were married, they are deceased.
3) Do you have any siblings? (If so, it would be good to describe them as you did your parents above.)
No.
4) Do you know any members of your extended family? (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins? Also would be good to describe them as above)
Kael has had no contact with any other family than his parents. He was too young to ask about any other relations before his own parents were killed.
5) How did you get along with your family?
Kael was raised in a loving enviornment, and got along well with his parents.
C: Education and Work
1) Did you serve an apprenticeship in order to learn your current profession/class? For how long?
As a member of the Temple of Sin, Kael served first as an acolyte to learn the basics of using prayers as spells and from there on, worked his way up the ladder. He served a total of about 10 years in the Temple before realizing the truth about Sin.
2) If you were not an apprentice, how did you learn your trade/skills/ect? Formal schooling? Informal Teachers? Self-Taught?
n/a
3) Who was your master or teacher? (Race? Gender? Appearance? Personality?) Is he/she still alive? How were you treated? Are/Were you on good terms with your master?
Priestess Riven was Kael's recruiter and instructor. He felt like he was treated well, as Riven promised him revenge and power. Mostly, he was lied to because she sensed his true nature and avoided letting him see what Sin's true motives and her worship really meant.
4) Did your teacher have any other apprentices or students? Who were they? Did you get along?
There were several other young clerics. Mostly they were kept seperate from Kael to avoid their discussing the religion.
5) Due to the rarity of literacy in this setting, how important are books, writings, letters, ect. to your character? Regardless as to whether or not he/she can read?
He can read and write, and enjoys reading books. He considers books, writings and letters to be useful and has great respect for religious and cultural texts.
6) Do you have a job other than "adventurer"? Who do you work for? How much of your time does this require?
Kael serves as a healer at the Temple of Sol Invictus. He helps the sick, sets bones, treats illnesses, delivers children and so on. He typically spends 4-6 hours each day at the Temple, although he can come and go as he pleases.
D: Friends
1) Who were your friends as a child? As an adolescent? As an adult?
As a child Kael had many friends in his home village. As an adolescent, he really had no friends at all as he was isolated in the Temple of Sin. As an adult, he has a few friends and many aquaintances. He knows most of the 'adventuring' crowd in Avalon, and is friends with several of them.
2) How many of these people are still alive? How many are you still friends with?
It's hard to say who is still alive of Kael's childhood friends. He's certainly not friends with any or kept in touch.
3) Who is/was your best friend? What is the most memorable thing that the two of you ever did together?
Eve White is Kael's best friend and fiance. He considers the most memorable think they've done to be getting engaged after a wonderful night in the small town of Hillwoods.
4) What do you look for in a friend?
He wants people who are reliable, non-greedy, willing to make sacrifices and who are generally helpful and can work together.
5) Have you ever been in love? Was it reciprocated? Do you have (or have you had) a boy-/girlfriend, a lover, or a spouse? More than one? Are you looking for one? What do you look for in a romantic partner?
Kael is in love with Eve White, and they are engaged to be married.
E: Attitudes and Beliefs
1) What are your beliefs about religion and the afterlife? Do you follow any particular god or gods? What appeals to you most about this religion? Least?
His belief is that if he can serve Sol Invictus well and atone for serving Sin, he will be rewarded in the afterlife by continuing his duties as a divine servant to Sol Invictus. What appeals to him is that by serving the Light, he can help others, put the undead to rest and make the world better. If there are any negatives, Kael sees it as the church of Sol Invictus being smaller than others, and he wishes to see the religion grow as people realize the goodness of following the Light.
2) Where do spirits of nature, the elements and the dead fit into these beliefs?
Elementals generally serve a purpose, being a part of the world. Spirits and the dead are a mixed bag, they can either be lost souls trying to do good or see a final act finished, or they can be malignant and evil. Kael is especially skilled at laying the undead to rest.
3) What gods, religions, or priesthoods will you have nothing to do with?
Kael has a deep dislike of the temple and followers of Sin and would prefer to see them destroyed.
4) What is your moral code? Under what conditions will you kill? Steal? Lie? Do you have a personal code of behavior about violence? Magic? Sex? Dealing with Evil Beings?
Kael will kill in self-defense, or in extreme cases of mercy. He will also engage against evil. Kael has been known to tell fibs when attempting to bluff or negotiate situations, but it's usually transparent because he's not a good liar. He has no particular codes of behavior for magic or violence, or even dealing with evil, except that he will always try to do the right thing and 'good' thing.
5) How committed are you to seeing through something (a task, quest, bargain, etc) that you have started?
It depends on how important the task is, really. If it's very important Kael will do his best to see that it is done. He gauges things by priority, and tasks himself to things by how important he feels they are.
6) How important are the following to you?: Power, Wealth, Fame, Honor, Family, Friends, Love, Knowledge, Religion, Your job? To what lengths would you go to acquire or preserve these things?
The most important things to Kael are his religion and his wife-to-be/family. After that comes friends, honor and then other things. Wealth and power are not particularly important to Kael, he tends to spend his money to make others happy.
7) How often do you remember your dreams? How much attention do you pay to them? Do they inspire you? Guide you? Inspire You? Warn you? Frighten You?
He probably remembers his dreams about as much as an average person does. He's never had a particular reason to see his dreams guide him, as he's never recieved any real message while dreaming.
8) What is your attitude towards magic? People who use it? Fearsome monsters? The unknown in general?
His wife-to-be is a powerful wizard and transmuter, he has no problem with magic. As for fearsome monsters and the unknown, Kael approaches each situation individually. What might seem like a fearsome monster could become a good ally.
F: Edges and Flaws
1) What are you especially good at? What sets you apart from the rest of the world? A skill? An unusual knack? A certain flair of style or wit?
Kael is especially good at destroying the undead. He is also a very skilled healer.
2) What flaws do you have? Bad habits? Obsessions? Terrible (or embarrassing) secrets?
Kael can be moody at times, he's had a troubled upbringing and can sink into depression or foul moods. For bad habits, it can probably be said that he tries to be funny sometimes and will fail hilariously.
3) Do you have any enemies? How much trouble do those conflicts cause you?
Kael's mortal enemy is Priestess Riven of the Temple of Sin. This conflict has caused many problems for Kael, including the kidnapping and abuse of his beloved.
G: Likes and Dislikes
1) What do you love? (People? Places? Creatures? Kinds of Food? Activities? Subjects?)
Kael loves the mountains and scenery. He loves peace and quiet and relaxing in general. He enjoys pasta type foods and fruit juices. He also enjoys a good adventure.
2) What do you hate? How do you typically react to these hated things?
Kael hates it when people are extremely judgemental without assessing all of the facts such as racism and sexism. He will typically look down on those who do so or trying to avoid associating with them.
3) What do you fear? What is your worst nightmare?
Being forced to serve Sin again.
H: Miscellaneous
1) Describe your first encounter with a nonhuman monster. (Not counting player races, animals, etc that you grew up with, but feel free to mention them too)
His first terrible encounter was with the undead in an arena beneath Avalon. He was forced to do battle in a gladiator style pit for the amusement of a magician. He had to fight the undead hand-to-hand as his magic was not powerful enough to destroy them.
2) If you are a spellcaster, describe your first experience with using magic. What were the circumstances? Were you expecting it?
Kael was groomed to use divine magic, and so his first experiences came slowly in a leaning enviornment. He began with basic Orisons and then moved up to more powerful abilities from there unwards.
3) If you have an animal companion or familiar, describe how you acquired it. Describe this ally's personality, and its attitude towards you. (Loyal unto death, mischievous, lazy, etc)
No.
4) If you have any unusual possessions, describe how you acquired them. Is their value practical, monetary, sentimental or some combination of these?
His only unusual possession is his mother's wedding ring, which he managed to salvage from his home before fleeing the mountains. It is very sentimental, and he plans to give it to Eve on their wedding day.
5) Please describe your characters general background, this may be any length you wish, but at least one paragraph. You may use any or all of the information above, or new information not covered. (Encouraged)
Kael was born in the village of Pinevale in the mountains west of Avalon. His parents were Kelly and Winston, and he had a pretty happy upbringing. He had a circle of friends his own age that he would play with and as there were plenty of other beastfolk in the village, there wasn't any particular sense of being different. His father would work during the day as a woodcarver and his mother was a barmaid. When Kael finished school each day he'd go to the Pinecone Inn where his mother worked and she would have food for him, he would eat dinner and talk to regulars of the Inn until his father finished work. His father would then take him home so that he could go play with the other children or do other activities.
At the age of 7, Kael was playing in the forest with his friends when they heard the town's bells ringing in alarm. They hurried home to find the village under attack by a raiding party from the nearby town of Hillwoods. Unable to do anything but watch, the children hid until nightfall and then returned to town. Kael discovered that both of his parents had been killed in the raid and rumors of another attack sent him into a panic. He got a few things from his home and fled by himself, leaving the mountains. He wandered lost through the wilderness, starving and frightened for weeks until he stumbled upon the hidden entrance to a Temple of Sin hidden away in the forest.
Sensing his fear and hatred, a Priestess of Sin named Mistress Riven took Kael in and began to instruct him in the ways of serving the Darkness, promising him a chance at revenge. For the next ten years Kael rose from Acolyte to Priest to Cleric in Sin's service and was finally allowed to venture forth, although he was being monitored the entire time. He met with several other adventurers in Avalon and became even stronger through the experience of quests. He was returning to the Temple of Sin unexpectedly one night when he stumbled upon one of Riven's dark rituals that involved the sacrifice of the innocent. Losing control and sickened, Kael slaughtered all of the followers of Sin that he could find and then fled the Temple as Sin stripped him of his divine powers.
Riven struck back by kidnapping Kael's beloved Eve White and abusing her until Kael and a party of adventurers managed to locate her. Although Kael lacked any divine powers, he fearlessly engaged any foe that tried to slow him as he sought out his beloved. In the end, Sol Invictus bestowed blessings upon Kael and granted him divine powers for the final battle with Riven. Since then, Kael has become a Radiant Servant of Sol Invictus and became engaged with Eve. He has left behind his feelings of revenge and hatred, instead embracing the Light and mellowing out a great deal.
