Slim and lithe with dark-gray skin and silver eyes that seem to draw one in, Perada's Half-Drow Heritage is well pronounced despite the allure she carries. Her hair is long and well styled, is the color of fine ebony wood but carries long tinges of silver in them and she dresses in a way that is both provocative and invocative; sensual without being blatant. Somewhat "self styled" for a witch (warlock), she doesn't carry herself with arrogance as many elves tend to do, rather she is easy-going, fun loving and glib.

Character History:
“ Ayr'Dal!….Ayr'dal rachon'le ayr'dal!…Tevenyel!”
These words echoed in the recesses of her mind, curses in elvish that stung more than the rocks and rotten fruit thrown at her as the young elf girl fled to her home on the outskirts of town. Why did they hate her so? She had done nothing to warrant the townsfolk's ire at all and was just minding her own business and just wanted to buy some fruit. Perada only wanted to see what the town was like since her father, Alister, kept her away from them…alone with really no one but him to rely on. The white haired man was so kind to her even if he was one of “them” and the woods that they had come to reside in was not always safe, yet the night was always fun…always beautiful…and they could see what was in the night the fools in town couldn't. Upon her return home, she ran up stairs, and laying on the bed cried…
She was not a normal elf, nor was she Drow…even if she did look like one with her ashen-gray skin and black hair that carried tinges of white. The fruit didn't sting Perada, the bruises left from rocks thrown at her ached, but the words hurt the most. “Outcast!” “Cursed One!” “I hate you!” Prejudice in the mind of a youngster was the worst kind of despair, but a gentle touch from her dear daddy…that was all she needed in the whole world. He too was an Outcast, a Pariah for having relations with her mother…
In the eyes of a child, the name of God is Mother…but yet she never knew her, never knew a mother to show her how to do womanly things or to relate to. Alister never spoke of her, if at all, possibly because he had loved her it seems…a weakness that he showed which led to his being cast out from the Underdark with his “motherless love child.” Despite the man's kindness, seeds of anger…rebellion…hate began to blossom in Perada's heart. Innocence lost to the cruelty of prejudice and racial hatred caused her to learn how to hate…to learn how to show no mercy…her father's words are engraved onto her heart even now in adulthood:
“You and I, Little one..we have no place of our own in this world. Men of our kind have naught but what we are given, slaves to our own designs. Just as the women of our kind rule, so to shall you; yours will not be a rule over men, but over yourself.”
Growing into adolescence and then into adulthood too was trying, the prejudice changed to lust. Men wanted her, women hated her more. Perada could take whatever she wanted from men, tease them and then when they thought she would be a new conquest would vanish into the night like a shadow. She and her father moved around more and more now, a shadow upon their heels each time. Perada began to wonder if Avalon would finally be home, and one night as she returned home, she found a note written by her father…he had found her mother, and left to seek her out.
Perada, never saw him again…
Residing now in Avalon City, the Half-Drow now seeks answers to not just her parentage, but about herself. A seductive smile and the right words said upon peoples ears and she gets her way, a quick blast of a spell or a well placed poisoned dagger to the eyes is only a nights work. Its not evil, its just a night of pleasures, money and fun to her…
Maybe one day, she'll find a better way…but not now, no…its too much fun.
Appearance
Describe yourself as someone meeting you for the first time would see you. (Race, Gender, Age, Size and Coloration, Attractiveness, Dress. Do you try to emphasize or hide any of these features?)
Seductive, shapely, and young with longer than normal ears and eyes of black with silver irises, Perada is a dark-skinned beauty of an elf. Her skin color, a dark gray, not so much removed from that of a Drow, yet her hair is also jet black and long, almost to the small of her back. Childbirth hasn't changed her much in the way of appearance, save for a little more definition in her hips, however it's clear that she takes very good care of herself. Usually, when encountered, she wears clothing that is provocative yet never blatant—she is attractive, and wears her gender very well in the way of womanly appeal.
What other details would someone notice on a closer look? (Distinguishing marks, birthmarks, scars, etc?)
Other details include the fact that she wears wire-rimmed glasses. Not just because she is somewhat short-sighted, but they also have a function—they are used to help her in the deciphering of and the casting of spells from scrolls. Also, if nude, one would notice a pair of vestigial gossamer wings that flow down her back a little ways, like a pair of fleshy scarves.
Do you have a distinctive way of speaking or any other mannerisms or memorable behavior?
The speaks common fluently, but would rather use Sylvian any chance she gets. She speaks the language of the Fae like a native but has a practiced tongue in Celestial she picked up from her Lifemate, Shalya that she will use when the two are spending time together. In the presence of strangers, Perada is very glib—she knows what to say and when to say it. Indeed, Perada is a very social character.
Birth and Family
Where and when were you born? (Also good to include: Do you know your exact birthdate? Did anything unusual (storms, accidents, deaths, etc?) happen about the same time, with which some people might still associate your birthdate?)
The birth of Perada was a tumultuous one. She celebrates her birthday on the Eight month, sixth day of each year but she never talks about it. Having never known her mother, she was raised by a man that claimed to be her father. He raised her well, teaching her everything she knows about arcane lore, as well as the ability to use the Faerie heritage that coursed through her veins. What she never new until later in life, that her father was actually The Dark One who had taken an elvish form, and used his disappearance to cause her to go looking for him in Therafim in a scheme to use her womb as a means to return to this world. A plot that was thwarted and stanched.
Who are your parents? (Names, Occupations, Social class, Were they married?, Are they still alive? are all good things to include)
As stated, Perada never knew her mother, though judging by her angular facial features, the longer ears and her somewhat capricious nature (which has cooled a bit at becoming a parent) her mother was indeed of the Fae, or an elf related to them. Her father, on the other hand was an arcanist who lived on the outskirts of any city. He and Perada moved around often, possibly to evade persecution of his daughter who looked way too much like a Drow.
Do you have any siblings? (If so, it would be good to describe them as you did your parents above), do you know any members of your extended family? (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins? Also would be good to describe them as above), and how did you get along with your family?
Perada has no known siblings or extended family to speak of save for her “father” whom she has no contact with nor wish nothing to do with.
Education and Work
Did you serve an apprenticeship in order to learn your current profession/class? For how long?
Perada is very well educated even if it is of a home schooling. Being a witch (the proper parlance for a “Female Warlock”), her powers are drawn from the chaotic energies of the Fae versus the typical Warlock who draws his powers from infernal means. Perada's learned her talents through practice—her skills evolve with the constant use of it.
Due to the rarity of literacy in this setting, how important are books, writings, letters, ect. to your character? Regardless as to whether or not he/she can read?
A very literate person, Perada sees books and scrolls as very important in her daily work as well as her past and soon to be future adventuring life.
Do you have a job other than "adventurer"? Who do you work for? How much of your time does this require?
In business for herself, Perada operates a curio store in the merchant's district of the City of Lotus along with her lifemate, Shalya. An able craftswoman, she can make weapons, armor and scribe scrolls. This is how she earns her money when not adventuring.
Friends
Who were your friends as a child? As an adolescent? As an adult?
She had few friends as a child because they moved so much. Some of the local kids would play with her until their parents found out there was a “Drow Child” in their midst. Most young children didn't care and thought she was just an elf with gray skin. As an adolescent however, her fae heritage became more apparent and as she mature she began to garner interest from boys while girls were envious of her good looks. Unfortunately, this too would end badly when a potential suitor would only date her out of pity or though she was easy. As an adult, she's made numerous friends in Avalon (and an enemy or two).
How many of these people are still alive? How many are you still friends with?
As far as she knows, the friends she has made in Avalon are still alive or have moved onto better things. One in particular, Cordelia, whom she trusts enough to babysit. She would trust no one else beyond her or Shalya with her children.
Who is/was your best friend? What is the most memorable thing that the two of you ever did together? What do you look for in a friend? Have you ever been in love? Was it reciprocated? Do you have (or have you had) a boy-/girlfriend, a lover, or a spouse? More than one? Are you looking for one? What do you look for in a romantic partner?
This is a lot to cover so I will sum this up in one paragraph. Perada's had friends in her life, but none more closer to her than Shalya. She's had numerous lovers in the past, but upon the birth of her twins Perada settled down a lot to raise them. Shalya and herself were good friends for a long time and it became more than a friendship after the ordeal in the abyss. Indeed she is her “spouse” because they were married some time ago, even though it has been discussed amongst their peers whom the “male” and “female” is amongst them and, when asked, Perada laughs and always replies: “There's no such thing as male or female between us, its just “Shalya and me.” As an fey-related elf, Perada tends to look for those who will be a comfort to her in the years to come, but in the past she was known to enjoy a dalliance now and then. She is currently not looking for anyone, and is very faithful to her lifemate.
Attitudes and Beliefs
What are your beliefs about religion and the afterlife? Do you follow any particular god or gods? What appeals to you most about this religion? Least?
Perada is by and large not religious per se; as an agnostic she believes fully in gods and devils because she herself has been to hell and back—litterally. Her stance on death is not the end of the journey because she believes that the end of life means the beginning of a new life. A firm believer in reincarnation, her belief is that, when life ends, the soul departs to their just reward and can return later in another form. Perada has a respect for the temples of Bahamut and Tamara because they have given their aid to her little family without asking a coin or a favor.
Where do spirits of nature, the elements and the dead fit into these beliefs?
To her, the dead should stay dead, and the spirits of nature are to be respected. Though she may not look it, Perada is indeed an elf, and by instinct respects the wilds. The elements are chaotic, wild, just like the fey.
What gods, religions, or priesthoods will you have nothing to do with?
Simply put, the “Preachy ones” and any that are of an evil alignment. Any cells of The Dark One of the Nightmare King are her enemies and she will not hesitate if one crosses into her life far too closely for comfort.
What is your moral code? Under what conditions will you kill? Steal? Lie? Do you have a personal code of behavior about violence? Magic? Sex? Dealing with Evil Beings?
Perada is a “live and let live” sort of girl. Easy going, hard working, and perfers to enjoy her life to the fullest with every day she has. Being an elf, she has plenty, and violence isn't something she tolerates but mess with her children or her lover and you'll quickly find she'll become a momma bear really fast. Magic is her life, there is no separating her from it unless you completely drain her dry and as for Sex…the hotter it is, the more she loves it and the more insatiable she becomes. Somewhat of a Fem-dom, when it comes to that, there's some instances she doesn't mind the submissive role. Evil beings are carefully observed and dealt with on a case by case basis, having dealt with them once too often in life.
How committed are you to seeing through something (a task, quest, bargain, etc) that you have started?
Depending on the task, Perada can either be very dogged and determined or bored to tears and leave it alone. It depends on what the task is, how important and for what.
How important are the following to you?: Power, Wealth, Fame, Honor, Family, Friends, Love, Knowledge, Religion, Your job? To what lengths would you go to acquire or preserve these things?
In this order: Family, Friends, Love, Knowledge, Wealth, Power, Fame, Honor, Job and then Religion. Pure and simple.
How often do you remember your dreams? How much attention do you pay to them? Do they inspire you? Guide you? Inspire You? Warn you? Frighten You?
Elves do not sleep, they meditate four hours a day. If she has dreams, they could be considered premonitions. When she has them, (If she has them), she takes them very seriously. With Shalya as a seer , she usually comes to her for advice on them.
What is your attitude towards magic? People who use it? Fearsome monsters? The unknown in general?
Her stance on the unknown is not to fear it, lest it consume you. Instead go into with an open mind and an air of learning. Her attitude towards magic was mentioned already and this is a redundant question, but being a warlock, magic is a tool to be used and is neither good nor evil. Monsters are a matter of perspective; even the most heroic can look like a monster in her eyes, but real monsters and devils are to be squashed quickly IF they earn it.
Edges and Flaws
What are you especially good at? What sets you apart from the rest of the world? A skill? An unusual knack? A certain flair of style or wit?
For all her charm, sex appeal and wit, Perada is a very mechanically-inclined individual. Magical devices of all sorts in her hands are useful—and dangerous. It only takes her a moment of study to learn how it works, and she is a very quick learner. She is also very agile, flexible and quick on her feet as she is with her tongue and her use of magical devices, scrolls even magical weapons and armor. Her invocations are selected for her personal use, and not for offensive capabilities mostly, but her Eldritch Blast is capable of freezing targets or coating them with a potent acid as well as ignoring spell resistances.
What flaws do you have? Bad habits? Obsessions? Terrible (or embarrassing) secrets?
Do you have any enemies? How much trouble do those conflicts cause you?
If asked, she'd tell you she's perfect in every way, but such is not the case. Perada has numerous insecurities, her appearance in particular. It bothers her a lot when she is mistaken as a Drow when she gets her skin coloration from her father and while not overly obsessive over it, she is self conscious about her looks. Also, to some, her being bi-sexual might rub some people the wrong way depending on their beliefs and their attitudes.
Likes and Dislikes
What do you love? (People? Places? Creatures? Kinds of Food? Activities? Subjects?)
To Perada, There is nothing and no one more important to her than her children and her lover, Shalya. Idhrenion (her son, meaning “Wisdom”) and Caladwen (her daughter, meaning “Light”) mean the world to her. Not just because they are her children, but because they are a blessing in her eyes. A blessing to someone who thought none could see past the dark exterior into the good soul within. Favorite pastimes include reading, drawing and painting, and even night flights during the summer since she has the ability to do so. Also, she enjoys board games such as checkers and chess.
Creatures: Perada's a cat person. She even has three as pets: a tabby named “Momo”, a sphinx named “Antony” and an abyssian name “Checkers”.
Favorite foods: Anything Pasta, she also enjoys green tea.
Subjects: Old stories and lore, particularly faerie lore. Magic, Cooking, and even sewing are interests.
What do you hate? How do you typically react to these hated things?
Perada can hate anything when angry, but the things that she hates most are liars,
What do you fear? What is your worst nightmare?
When you are as long lived as Perada, little surprises or scares you. Her worst fear is something horrible happening to her children. Other fears include a revulsion to spiders, and she's a bit of a claustrophobic.
