Class Abilities:
Planeshifter
Plane Shift (Sp): A planeshifter has the ability to plane shift (as the spell cast by a sorcerer of his character level) once per day. At 8th level, the planeshifter can use this ability at will.
Variant: Dragonblood Mage
This class option advances as the Wizard normally does, except as listed below:
Spellscales and the members of other dragonblood races tap into their innate draconic talents to achieve greater heights of arcane power, forgoing any pretense of mundane pursuits, a dragonblood mage explores new approaches to casting arcane spells.
Hit Die: d4.
Requirements:
•To take the dragonblood mage substitution level, a character must have the dragonblood subtype and be about to take his 1st level of Wizard.
•This substitution requires you to replace the standard Wizards familiar class feature and Scribe Scroll feat with the below bonuses.
Class Skills:
Dragonblood mage substitution levels have the class skills of the standard Wizard class, minus Craft and Profession, plus Use Magic Device. In addition, a dragonblood mage who takes the 1st-level racial substitution level gains a class skill from his Draconic Heritage feat.
Skill Points at Each Level: 2 + Int modifier (four times this number as a beginning character).
Class Features:
All the following are class features of the dragonblood mage racial substitution levels.
Arcane Insight (Ex): A 1st-level dragonblood mage’s racial talent with magic grants him keen insights into arcane mysteries. Each time he selects a dragonblood mage substitution level, he gains a cumulative +2 insight bonus on Knowledge (arcana) checks.
Draconic Heritage: A 1st-level dragonblood mage gains Draconic Heritage as a bonus feat.
Racial Abilities:
• Changelings are humanoids with the shapechanger subtype.
• Medium: As Medium creatures, changelings have no special bonuses or penalties due to their size.
• Changeling base land speed is 30 feet.
• +2 racial bonus to any One Stat.
• +2 racial bonus on saving throws against sleep and charm effects: Changelings have slippery minds.
• +2 racial bonus on Bluff, Intimidate, and Sense Motive checks: Changelings are inherently skilled in deception and intimidation; though they cannot actually detect thoughts as doppelgangers can, they can intuitively read body language and attitude with surprising accuracy.
• Natural Linguist: Changelings add Speak Language to their list of class skills for any class they adopt.
• Minor Change Shape (Su): Changelings have the supernatural ability to alter their appearance as though using a disguise self spell that affects their bodies but not their possessions. This ability is not an illusory effect but a minor physical alteration of a changeling’s facial features, skin color and texture, and size, within the limits described for the spell. A changeling can use this ability at will, and the alteration lasts until he changes shape again. A changeling reverts to his natural form when killed. A true seeing spell reveals his natural form. When using this ability to create a disguise, a changeling receives a +10 circumstance bonus on Disguise checks. Using this ability is a full-round action.

Character History:
Note: Spending 10 REP on special background, and 5 REP on being Lawful EVIL.
Actual background:
Stanford Mordeval was born in luxury, to a wealthy family of nobles in Avalon proper. He became aware at a young age that his family was…different..than the others of the city. Not just for their wealth and prestige, but they were gifted with magic, and a different perspective than their elite-born, foppish brethren. Upon coming of age, he was sworn to secrecy and told the secret burden their family carried, at once their blessing and curse. Somewhere through the lineage of his father, Horatio Mordeval, a powerful white dragon had mingled with them, and blessed them with its power. All of their progeny carried traces of this heritage, to varying extents. To make matters still more complicated, his mother was a changeling, attracted to his father primarily out of self-interest..but that did not change the fact that he inherited both family traits..a draconic inheritance and the art of changing his form. His three younger sisters also had inherited these gifts, but were well schooled in how to contain them, as he was.
The family had worked hard to attain its place here, and would not let this secret be the ruin of their status. While it would not destroy their financial status, it would work ruin on their reputation, and stifle their growth. The carefully cultivated image of public generosity was conceived for this reason alone. Few would suspect humanitarians like them to be hiding such a secret, of being the distant offspring of white dragons.
Stanford's own upbringing was rather focused..with his obvious intelligence, both of his parents expected him to engage in some sort of trade or vocation that relied on it. While his father would likely have preferred him to be an industrialist, furthering the family fortune, his mother was more than pleased to see him take to the Art, becoming an apprentice wizard. Specifically, though, his talents seemed focused to the point of obsession on one school…necromancy. Unlike others of the craft though, he was wise enough to refrain from the more..unpleasant…aspects of the craft. His home would not be disgraced by shambling corpses or heaps of bone…while he appreciated their value, he knew better than to tempt either fate or the agents of so-called 'benevolent' deities. No…he planned on something far grander. Someday, perhaps, a place where such magic could be performed, but it would be hard to form such an academy anywhere on Therafim itself. Perhaps on another plane…someplace well suited to the task. In the meantime, however, he focused his magic on that one singular goal, and resolved to take on apprentices once able, to leave on a legacy of trained wizards (Specialist and otherwise) behind him.

Noble family entry:(If Approved)
Mordeval
Symbol: A spread palm with a coin over each finger/thumbtip, coins are silver, hand is covered in an ornate black glove.
-Family is known for having very successful business relations with the other noble families, but keeps from overstepping their bounds, not wanting to get on anyone else's bad side.
-Family is quite wealthy, as such things go.
-Family proved itself quite competent in the war, revealing that many of its elder members were accomplished mages. Unlike the Moonglow family, its elders are still present.
-Known for their generosity in giving to the poor of the city in times of crisis, and funding aid organizations.
Horatio Mordeval, m, 54
-Head of the Mordeval family, and its most potent mage at present.
-Known for being calm, collected, and far-sighted in his policies.
-Generous to certain public charities and causes, which helps his reputation as a kind soul.
Margaret Mordeval, f, 48
-Married to Horatio Mordeval.
-Potent sorceress in her own right, specializing in divination magic.
-Thought to be a little 'odd', but usually appears composed and polite.
-Rumors abound that Margaret has surpassing skill in illusion as well.
Stanford Mordeval, m, 24
-Heir to the family, somewhat flamboyant at times, boisterous and good natured when he has cause to be.
-Seems to have sorcerous talents much like his mother, though none of her surpassing skill, relatively slow to adapt to the Art.
-Only son of the family
Cynthia Mordeval, f, 22
-Very beautiful, and knows it.
-Flirtatious and demure all in the same evening, quite the socialite.
Rachael Mordeval, m, 18
-May be slightly more beautiful than Cynthia, the two tend to try and outshine each other at events.
-A gifted wizard, though of no great repute yet.
Rebecca Mordeval, f, 16
-Attractive, though whether she'll become a great beauty is unclear yet.
-Withdrawn, almost reclusive, very partial to books.
A: Appearance
1) Describe yourself as someone meeting you for the first time would see you. (Race?, Gender?, Age?, Size? Coloration? Attractiveness?, Dress? Do you try to emphasize or hide any of these features?)
1A: Assuming he's in his natural form, he'd appear to be a mid-twenties human male, fairly handsome, the very picture of a noble, complete with noble's garb, jewelry, and a signet ring.
2) What other details would someone notice on a closer look? (Distinguishing marks, birthmarks, scars, etc?)
2A: None to speak of, while his skin isn't quite flawless, it's a good step towards that.
3) Do you have a distinctive way of speaking or any other mannerisms or memorable behavior?
3A: Very noble-like, genteel, polite, eloquent.
B: Birth and Family
1) Where and when were you born? (Also good to include: Do you know your exact birthdate? Did anything unusual (storms, accidents, deaths, etc?) happen about the same time, with which some people might still associate your birthdate?)
1A: Avalon City, of course, like his siblings. October 20th. Nothing particularly auspicious occurred to mark his birth.
2) Who are your parents? (Names, Occupations, Social class, Were they married?, Are they still alive? are all good things to include)
2A: Horatio and Margaret Mordeval, both nobles. Horatio is the head of the Mordeval family of nobles. Yes, they were married, after a fiery fling that was the talk of the town. Both are alive and in fine health.
3) Do you have any siblings? (If so, it would be good to describe them as you did your parents above.)
3A: Stan has three younger sisters, who are at times the bane of his existence, teasing him incessantly. Still, he has family loyalty and would help them. He's obligated to, after all.
4) Do you know any members of your extended family? (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins? Also would be good to describe them as above)
4A: Not particularly. He's met many of them, but the extended members of the family tend to be reclusive magi or merchants, or one pretending to be the other.
5) How did you get along with your family?
5A: Very well, fortunately. Horatio has great hopes for him, and his sisters, despite their teasing, realize their brother is most likely to inherit the estate ultimately, by virtue of being male, and also of his obvious intelligence.
C: Education and Work
1) Did you serve an apprenticeship in order to learn your current profession/class? For how long?
1A: Yes, with a few elderly wizards hired by his parents. It took several years to learn the Art.
2) If you were not an apprentice, how did you learn your trade/skills/ect? Formal schooling? Informal Teachers? Self-Taught?
2A: N/A
3) Who was your master or teacher? (Race? Gender? Appearance? Personality?) Is he/she still alive? How were you treated? Are/Were you on good terms with your master?
3A: The teacher who taught him the longest was a rather drab, long-bearded human of elder years, long retired, who made a living teaching his skills to young apprentices, for the right price. In other words, catering to nobility who could afford it. In this case though, it was less of a burden than it often was..Stan had more than enough intellect to make it an enjoyable experience, and took to it rather well. He was strict, but fair.
4) Did your teacher have any other apprentices or students? Who were they? Did you get along?
4A: In the past, certainly, and possibly since having finished with Stan he might have taken another.
5) Due to the rarity of literacy in this setting, how important are books, writings, letters, ect. to your character? Regardless as to whether or not he/she can read?
5A: Nobles tend to be literate. Wizards have to be literate. Being both, Stan spends much of his time reading, and can't envision a time when he couldn't, frankly.
6) Do you have a job other than "adventurer"? Who do you work for? How much of your time does this require?
6A: Being the heir apparent to the Mordeval family empire, which more or less requires him appearing at social functions with some regularity.
D: Friends
1) Who were your friends as a child? As an adolescent? As an adult?
1A: Apart from his sisters, probably a few household servants or their children, maybe other noble children…as an adolescent, he became somewhat more withdrawn, and couldn't associate with his servant families as readily. Now, as an adult, he simply associates with family and friends, and nobility of course.
2) How many of these people are still alive? How many are you still friends with?
2A: Just about all of them are alive. He can't really say he's friends with the servants anymore, but he knows their names and they can exchange a smile when they meet, at least.
3) Who is/was your best friend? What is the most memorable thing that the two of you ever did together?
3A: Being the calculating type, he never played favorites, and instead played for the advantages of the group.
4) What do you look for in a friend?
4A: Usefulness to him, plain and simple, though camaraderie is fun in its own way.
5) Have you ever been in love? Was it reciprocated? Do you have (or have you had) a boy-/girlfriend, a lover, or a spouse? More than one? Are you looking for one? What do you look for in a romantic partner?
5A: Honestly? No. He's not above the -concept- of romantic love, but its never occurred to him. Physical lust and passion, certainly, and 'friendship', which for him essentially means enjoying the company of another, and their conversation. He has a slave or two for bed-companions, from time to time…but is always interested in meeting someone else. As for what he -wants- in a partner..good looks, brains, and the ability to instill loyalty in them so that they won't betray him.
E: Attitudes and Beliefs
1) What are your beliefs about religion and the afterlife? Do you follow any particular god or gods? What appeals to you most about this religion? Least?
1A: The gods exist, certainly..but as far as the afterlife goes, he wants to stack the odds to place him somewhere -comfortable- in the afterlife, wherever that is. If he is ultimately sent to the Hells, he'll ensure he arrives in a cushy position.
2) Where do spirits of nature, the elements and the dead fit into these beliefs?
2A: Tools of the universe, and hopefully ones he can use, someday.
3) What gods, religions, or priesthoods will you have nothing to do with?
3A: The ones that would rob him blind, presumably, or slit his throat without discussion.
4) What is your moral code? Under what conditions will you kill? Steal? Lie? Do you have a personal code of behavior about violence? Magic? Sex? Dealing with Evil Beings?
4A: Very odd. The moral bars that others won't cross, he might, if he has reason to. He doesn't -enjoy- killing or stealing, and would in fact prefer not to have to steal at all, and sees -rampant- killing as a waste. But he'll do it if he has something to gain by it.He doesn't let his emotions rule him, if possible.
5) How committed are you to seeing through something (a task, quest, bargain, etc) that you have started?
5A: He'll stick with it until he's forced to desist or it becomes obvious he'll gain nothing by pursuing it, in most cases.
6) How important are the following to you?: Power, Wealth, Fame, Honor, Family, Friends, Love, Knowledge, Religion, Your job? To what lengths would you go to acquire or preserve these things?
Power: Very very important, in every sense of the word. He craves it. Wealth: Also very important, for the having and for what it can do for him. Fame: Of course, though some things shouldn't be well known about him. Honor: To a degree, important. What others call honor, he calls irrelevant. His word is his honor, in most cases, and he is loathe to break it. If he promises something, he intends to keep it if at all possible. Family: He owes them a debt for raising him and teaching him, and that debt is very hard to ever repay. Friends: Tools, you mean? Love: Lust, you mean. Knowledge: Very important, as it helps him plan his next move. Religion: Personally not an issue, but he understands its value to others. His job as a noble? Very important of course, can't let his father down. or his sisters.
7) How often do you remember your dreams? How much attention do you pay to them? Do they inspire you? Guide you? Inspire You? Warn you? Frighten You?
7A: Usually dreams of power, significant wealth, and such…dreams that a red dragon would be proud of. They're just dreams, though. fantasies.
8) What is your attitude towards magic? People who use it? Fearsome monsters? The unknown in general?
8A: A very useful path to power, wealth, fame, and assorted other 'good things'. Those who use it are to be respected, at least until they prove unworthy of said respect. Fearsome monsters? He's descended from one, so, hah. Unknown: Exists to be known.
F: Edges and Flaws
1) What are you especially good at? What sets you apart from the rest of the world? A skill? An unusual knack? A certain flair of style or wit?
1A: Magic, puzzles, dancing, among other things.
2) What flaws do you have? Bad habits? Obsessions? Terrible (or embarrassing) secrets?
2A: A little greed, much pride, lust, wrath…need one go on? And of course, the secret of being descended from a red dragon on his father's side, and a changeling (his mother)…hah.
3) Do you have any enemies? How much trouble do those conflicts cause you?
3A: Political rivals later, potentially, but as the heir, it's not as heavily focused on him as yet.
