A: Appearance
1) Describe yourself as someone meeting you for the first time would see you. (Race?, Gender?, Age?, Size? Coloration? Attractiveness?, Dress? Do you try to emphasize or hide any of these features?)
1A: Like many Elapi, Szintyrr is scaled, with a long, flexible tail. In many ways his people resemble the Naga that spawned them. His scales are green, while his eyes are a bright yellow, with dark slit-like pupils. Tall and powerfully built, age seemingly indeterminate, though obviously hale and hearty, prime of life, perhaps. For his own kind, he's considered quite handsome. For those of other races, the reptilian nature might throw them off, unfortunately.
2) What other details would someone notice on a closer look? (Distinguishing marks, birthmarks, scars, etc?)
2A: No noticable scars, or birthmarks.
3) Do you have a distinctive way of speaking or any other mannerisms or memorable behavior?
3A: An unfortunate tendancy to extend the 's' in his sssspeech, which he attempts to limit as much as possible.
B: Birth and Family
1) Where and when were you born? (Also good to include: Do you know your exact birthdate? Did anything unusual (storms, accidents, deaths, etc?) happen about the same time, with which some people might still associate your birthdate?)
1A: In Avalon City, 25 years ago. October 5th. Born to one of his father's wives, (Who later became his first wife, since she was the first to bear him a son of any apparent worth). In a more upscale community.
2) Who are your parents? (Names, Occupations, Social class, Were they married?, Are they still alive? are all good things to include)
2A: His father is a very well-to-do merchant, operating an upscale armor and weapons emporium that has the ability to deal with very exotic or custom requests. His mother, an Elapi socialite who had worked hard to earn his father's favor in the first place. Yes, they were married. Yes, they're still alive, though neither is quite pleased with their son at all, for different reasons.
3) Do you have any siblings? (If so, it would be good to describe them as you did your parents above.)
3A: Many half-siblings, other children of his father, (Mostly sisters, but one or two more academic brothers). He has little to do with any of them, never having been encouraged to socialize with them at his father's estate from a young age.
4) Do you know any members of your extended family? (grandparents, aunts, uncles, cousins? Also would be good to describe them as above)
4A: No. Whoever his extended family might be, they're not anywhere near Avalon, if they're alive at all.
5) How did you get along with your family?
5A: With his father, relations have always been tense. His father wanted very specific things from Szintyrr, to train him to replace him and maintain his emporium after his death. While Szintyrr has the brains for this to work, he did not have the inclination to be a merchant, and chose another path, for which his father has never forgiven him. His mother at first treated him with pampered attentions, as he was the means by which she had become his father's 'first-wife'. Unfortunately, when he angered his father, it soured their relation significantly. As for his many siblings, many disliked him for being either male or more pleasing to their father. Once he left, few thought of him.
C: Education and Work
1) Did you serve an apprenticeship in order to learn your current profession/class? For how long?
1A: His teacher was a senior druid, one of the high elves, who he found in the wildnerness surrounding Avalon. It took many years for him to learn the druid's craft, and to hone his connection to nature itself.
2) If you were not an apprentice, how did you learn your trade/skills/ect? Formal schooling? Informal Teachers? Self-Taught?
2A: N/A
3) Who was your master or teacher? (Race? Gender? Appearance? Personality?) Is he/she still alive? How were you treated? Are/Were you on good terms with your master?
3A: (See 1A) High elf, male, old and wizened, with a good sense of humor, but not the most patient of sorts. Didn't appreciate it if you didn't learn from your mistakes the first time. Treated Szintyrr well, overall, fairly at any rate. They have not spoken in the last few years, since the elf took an extended journey away from Avalon, for unexplained reasons.
4) Did your teacher have any other apprentices or students? Who were they? Did you get along?
4A: None that Szintyrr knows of.
5) Due to the rarity of literacy in this setting, how important are books, writings, letters, ect. to your character? Regardless as to whether or not he/she can read?
5A: Very important. He was of course trained to be literate in his youth, as any merchant would have to be, especially one catering to nobility. It was from tales and epics that he gained an appreciation for the wilds and a more active lifestyle..
6) Do you have a job other than "adventurer"? Who do you work for? How much of your time does this require?
6A: Caretaker of nature, though that hardly pays the bills.
D: Friends
1) Who were your friends as a child? As an adolescent? As an adult?
1A: Very few, all around, a somewhat reclusive individual much of the time, despite his benevolent nature. His imposing visage tends to frighten many away. As a youth, he was friends with one of his father's hired guards, who taught him how to swing a sword and defend himself.
2) How many of these people are still alive? How many are you still friends with?
2A: The guard is presumably still alive and serving his father, but has not spoken with Szintyrr since he left.
3) Who is/was your best friend? What is the most memorable thing that the two of you ever did together?
3A: N/A
4) What do you look for in a friend?
4A: Loyalty, balance, wisdom, kindness, an ability to look past appearances.
5) Have you ever been in love? Was it reciprocated? Do you have (or have you had) a boy-/girlfriend, a lover, or a spouse? More than one? Are you looking for one? What do you look for in a romantic partner?
5A: Had a brief infatuation with one of the patrons of his father's emporium, a young, very rich Elapi maiden, but little came of it. She returned the flirtations in the hope of garnering a discount, and when that didn't appear to be at all likely, <his father not being as young or foolish as he was..> it was ended abruptly. He's open minded, not looking solely for another Elapi, if he can find someone who'd take him as what he was.
E: Attitudes and Beliefs
1) What are your beliefs about religion and the afterlife? Do you follow any particular god or gods? What appeals to you most about this religion? Least?
1A: The gods have their place. Matra is his preferred deity, for many reasons. He believes each goes to their own just reward, be it a place in the hells, a reincarnation in the prime material plane, or a place above in the celestial expanse.
2) Where do spirits of nature, the elements and the dead fit into these beliefs?
2A: They exist, and have a purpose to serve.
3) What gods, religions, or priesthoods will you have nothing to do with?
3A: Those dedicated to utter chaos and/or destruction, death, etc.
4) What is your moral code? Under what conditions will you kill? Steal? Lie? Do you have a personal code of behavior about violence? Magic? Sex? Dealing with Evil Beings?
4A: To kill in self defense is acceptable, or the defense of another. Stealing is unnecessary and wrong, under most circumstances, but there are always exceptions.
5) How committed are you to seeing through something (a task, quest, bargain, etc) that you have started?
5A: Very dedicated, when he can be motivated to set upon a quest of some sort to begin with.
6) How important are the following to you?: Power, Wealth, Fame, Honor, Family, Friends, Love, Knowledge, Religion, Your job? To what lengths would you go to acquire or preserve these things?
6A: Power: Means to an end, not the end goal. Wealth: Very useful, odd as that may sound for a druid. He requires a vast sum of it to achieve his ends. Fame: Also integral to his ultimate goals, but not important for now. Honor: Fairly important. Family: What he has now, very much considered irrelevant. A new family would be very important to him. Friends: If they're true to him, very important. Love: Sacred. Should be treated very well. Knowledge: Very important to his goals. Religion: He's more laid back about this, really. He likes Matra, he owes fealty to her, but each to their own. He won't be heavily offended unless someone besmirches her or desecrates a shrine to her, or something of that nature.
7) How often do you remember your dreams? How much attention do you pay to them? Do they inspire you? Guide you? Inspire You? Warn you? Frighten You?
7A: He doesn't dream, oddly enough…not normally, at any rate, never that he remembers.
8) What is your attitude towards magic? People who use it? Fearsome monsters? The unknown in general?
8A: It has a purpose like everything else. Those who use dark and destructive magicks should be watched closely, but the magic itself is not always the problem, its the purpose for which it's used. Fearsome monsters…well, he looks like one, so this makes him more understanding of others. Unknown: A mystery waiting to be explored.
F: Edges and Flaws
1) What are you especially good at? What sets you apart from the rest of the world? A skill? An unusual knack? A certain flair of style or wit?
1A: Apart from physical fitness, Szintyrr has a remarkable silvertongue, and a keen understanding of nature and magic.
2) What flaws do you have? Bad habits? Obsessions? Terrible (or embarrassing) secrets?
2A: A tendancy to avoid larger social gatherings, at present, though he tries to overcome this. Also, worried that his attraction to non-Elapi may be considered quite unnatural.
3) Do you have any enemies? How much trouble do those conflicts cause you?
3A: No serious enemies to date.
G: Likes and Dislikes
1) What do you love? (People? Places? Creatures? Kinds of Food? Activities? Subjects?)
1A: Nature, the wilds, his teacher. his animal companion.
2) What do you hate? How do you typically react to these hated things?
2A: Those who destroy nature or abuse it, and usually with harsh words at first, then violence if they don't desist.
3) What do you fear? What is your worst nightmare?
3A: Losing his connection with nature, hard-won as it has been. Something happening to his animal companion.
H: Miscellaneous
1) Describe your first encounter with a nonhuman monster. (Not counting player races, animals, etc that you grew up with, but feel free to mention them too)
1A: A pair of gnoll raiders journeying through the woods, assaulting any they came across. Szintyrr approached them, warned them, and when they attacked him, he killed them, though it was a tough fight.
2) If you are a spellcaster, describe your first experience with using magic. What were the circumstances? Were you expecting it?
2A: Casting a small healing spell on a woodland creature, with his master's supervision. Elated and pleased that the magic had finally deigned to grant him its blessing.
3) If you have an animal companion or familiar, describe how you acquired it. Describe this ally's personality, and its attitude towards you. (Loyal unto death, mischievous, lazy, etc)
3A: Tarasska, Medium Viper. When his master suggested he finally take a companion of his own, he searched for a snake of great size. Despite his master's warning that it would be best to start small. He was unsuccessful in his search for a larger creature, but Tarasska has served him well ever since. Somehow, she seems to be growing slowly stronger and sturdier, and every time she sheds, she's a little larger than before. Perhaps she senses her master's desire for a larger companion, and is in some way trying to please him. Overall, Tarasska is very loyal, but has an almost teasing relationship, enjoying the opportunity to give a little scare to whoever her master befriends, though she'd never harm any without his express say-so. In truth, she's grown a little lazy under his care, though her edge in combat hasn't waned at all.
4) If you have any unusual possessions, describe how you acquired them. Is their value practical, monetary, sentimental or some combination of these?
4A: N/A
5) Please describe your characters general background, this may be any length you wish, but at least one paragraph. You may use any or all of the information above, or new information not covered. (Encouraged)

Character History:
(Apologies for the short-ish BG, but the questionnairre fills in a lot of info)
Szintyrr was born in Avalon, to a wealthy Elapi merchant, and one of his several wives. His father was a proud man, who had worked long and hard to establish his position as a premiere shopkeeper in the city, catering to nobility and providing weapons, armor, and other military accoutrements as needed. He wished for a son that would be able to take on his legacy, and seemed ill-fated..most of his children were daughters, and of the males, none had the wit necessary to maintain his fortune. When Szintyrr was born, and began to grow, he thought his prayers had been answered. Szintyrr's mother, a socialite who had done everything in her power to get to where she was, was raised to the position of his first-wife, which pleased her to no end. Both parents all but doted on him, but he had little interest in the idea of running a shop for the rest of his life. What began as simple disinterest grew into discomfort, and finally an urge to escape. He began to take short journeys out of the city, which he explained as a simple urge to explore and get exercise in the wilds, but in reality, he simply wanted to be free of what was, to him, an oppressive and seemingly inevitable destiny as the next owner of his father's shop.
It was seemingly by chance that he encountered a wizened old high elf, garbed in faded clothing made out of hides, who began to speak with him. Both were pleased at having someone of wit to speak with..Szintyrr for speaking with someone not affiliated with his father, and the elf for having someone to speak to, at all, without having to leave the comfort of 'his' forest glade. As it turned out, the man was a druid, an emissary of nature, who strove to maintain the balance however possible. When Szintyrr learned of this, he became fascinated by the prospect. Now there was a job that had worth..something he could do that would have a lasting impact on the world. Or rather, he would prevent others from making -negative- impacts. He had thought long and hard about his choices..and came to a rather unorthodox decision. He would become a druid, if the old elf would teach him, and in the process of guarding nature, would no doubt accrue a little fame and fortune along the way. As he did, he'd make life more bearable for other Elapi, whether low-born or high, by providing a sanctuary for them, in Avalon. It would take wealth and prestige to accomplish the task, but it was a goal he felt comfortable with. His teacher was not quite so enamored of his plan, when told of it..but understood that it did not in any way lessen the pupil's drive to defend nature. Perhaps it would even cause other Elapi under his care to respect nature in turn, whether they became druids or not.
He left, with only a simple letter to explain his absence, never looking back, essentially. He spent years in the forest learning from the elf, and only in the past few years had the necessary experience to stand on his own. His teacher has left, on a somewhat unexplained journey for parts unknown, leaving him to make his own way. His faithful(if lazy..) companion Tarraska by his side.
